Scans begin in September, but what’s before then?

As the launch of our 3D scanners draws near, anticipation among our users is mounting. While we're looking forward to onboarding the first Heroes into the metaverse I'm also excited to share some of the features that will be available to our users before September. Let's dive in.

#1 DAO Release

We're excited to announce that our DAO release is just around the corner. Next week, we'll be launching the "check if you're in DAO page" ("Dao Checker" for short) as the first snapshot will take place by the end of this quarter (6/30/2023). The page will allow you to make sure you won’t be missing out on the benefits that come with being a member of Metahero DAO.

For more information on how the DAO works, please visit our website and read our detailed explanation. Precise DAO inclusion rules will be released this week along with the check-in page.

Our DAO is an important step towards building a more decentralized and community-driven project. We're looking forward to seeing how our community will use this tool to shape the future of our product.

#2 Beta of our "configurator" with demo avatars

Another feature I'm personally most excited about is the beta version of our web configurator, which will allow users to play with scans of our models and see what they'll be able to do with their own scans after their visit. In the configurator, you’ll be able to change a lot of features of your body like skin tone or eye color as well as try on different clothes and accessories. The goal is to create the desired version of yourself that you’ll be using across different apps and games. Think of it as a foundation on which we’ll be building other integrations on top of.

The configurator will be available on desktops as a web app and on mobile devices as an installable app.

We're currently on the advanced stage of development, and we're aiming to release it in August.

To have a sneak peek of what's to come, check out the Instagram page of one of our models, Sasha Obodianska, and take a look at some of the sneak peeks of the app on our website.

#3 Webstore with our merchandise as a "proof of concept" E-commerce integration

We'll also launch a web-store with our own merchandise as a "proof of concept" e-commerce integration. This will allow users to try on items on our models and on themselves after getting scanned in September. In the initial batch of our merchandise, we want to offer hoodies, t-shirts, caps, and cups. All of them except for the cups (at least initially) you’ll be able to view in our meta-wardrobe. We plan to release the webstore soon after the configurator.

The thing I'm most thrilled about here is that we're almost done piloting our ecommerce integration with a major engine, which opens up the door to huge pool of e-commerce partnerships right away. We are designing our platform in a way that can open up our integration with potential partners on a wide scale from the very beginning in September….This is something that I’m particularly excited about and so have decided it is something worthy of exploring in its own post potentially later this week, so keep an eye out for that!

#4 Partnerships with Gaming and E-commerce players

We've just announced a partnership with Alaska Gold Rush over the coming months we’ll be working with them on our integration and creation of digital assets so look out for that.

But that’s not the only partnership in the works…

Sadly as is the reality of Non-disclosure agreements, it’s a bit too early to talk about them publicly, but there are both gaming and e-commerce players to be announced. I wish I could tell more, but don't want to overhype it as things are still developing.

One key factor in being ready to announce such collaborations is to have our software live, in place, and ready for their integration. So that’s exactly what these next few months are about!

If you'd like to hunt for further updates around ongoing development, stay tuned to our telegram where you can occasionally chat with our team members, including me. There you can also find some smaller incremental updates, the type which we typically don't announce on other social media channels, that we reserve for the bigger headline announcements

#5 Marketing campaign to raise awareness

While we might be pretty well known in the crypto community our product aims for a much broader audience than that. To get filling up our scanning slot calendar, we'll be launching a marketing campaign to raise awareness among not only the "crypto bros" but also with the wider public. The plan begins with Poland and especially Warsaw and then expands more and more as we launch other scanners.

However, keep in mind that this is not the field I'm closely working with, so the information I'm sharing is definitely incomplete. I'm sure the upcoming marketing moves are going to be brought to light by our Head of Marketing in the coming weeks.

#6 Technical articles to clear up confusion

Finally, we'll be releasing technical articles that explain the biggest challenges ahead of us and the ones that we've already tackled. We believe that transparency is essential to building trust with our community, and we're committed to being as open as possible on any of the topics that are ready and able to be talked about, as I feel this is an area where there is room for improvement.

And most importantly

There's a lot more we're working on as we explore the possibilities of our scanners. In this article, we’ve only covered the things that we’re absolutely sure about and don’t see any major obstacles or uncertainties that could block us from the releases. That said we hope to uncover them as we gain more reassurance.

I also haven’t mentioned projects we have that are well-known and ongoing for a long time, like constantly improving the quality of our scans and the scalability of both our chambers and the scanning process. These are still a vital part of our company’s success and we'll definitely bring more attention to them in future articles.

I really can’t wait to hear your feedback and see how you'll use these tools and features to shape the future of our platform.

Cheers!

Rolling up the sleeves and getting back to the shovel...
